I got so excited reading all the fuel filter posts I decided to change mine on the car I have not done much with. It was dark and cruddy but not bad. I noticed some of the braided fuel lines to the injectors was weepy so I will replace those too.
The reason for this post is this - when I started pumping the primer, I got squirts of diesel coming back on my hand. So, I'm going to replace the primer pump too. But, with an old plastic twist knob, or with a new power jobbie? Is the latter really worth the extra $20? Any of you installed a new model? Either way, I hear they are a bear to get out unless you are an anorexic midget with itty bitty fingers, and I a large chunky fellow with fat fingers.
