[diesel_mercedes] my 1965 190 d fuel issue

Hello again all. I have the mercedes that won't go over 25 mph so all of you suggested I start with my filters. I am looking at this small fuel filter and it looks rusty. How do I clean it? It feels like metal. I have a pic but I'm not sure how to post the pic

Re: [diesel_mercedes] 3/16" Neoprene Hose

OK it's pricey by the foot but you don't use that much of it all that often.  Buy it from the dealer.

Clearly some of those are too thick ti fit in the narrow space on the injectors ~ I want to see what I'm getting before I commit to purchase .

Thanx for the link though .

Can you find me cheap windshield mounts for Garmin Nuvi ? I have a couple sans power cords and suction cups .

TIA ,

[diesel_mercedes] NAPA Stores

Yeah ;

NAPA still sells good stuff but , in the City they tend to be not as good as they were decades ago .

I'm sort of lucky in that the folks who bought my local , old timey NAPA store , cater to the local Mexican Market , lots of small indipendant Mechanics working on Gadener's trucks and so on . they still have the HUGE paper catalogs although only *one* of the Counter Guys is willing to look in them .

I typically look up what I need @ work , print it out and take that page to them .

Maybe i'll slide by there later to - day and ask if they have 3/16" Neoprene hose .

Our NAPA closed their shop about 7 to 10 years age, to save money I guess.

Then they changed hands about a year ago. The four old-timers are gone now.

The new people seem to know what they're doing but all the flavor is gone.  L

Well ;

The deal is : I don't know any good FLAPS anymore ~

Even the NAPA Store I trade with , I have to look up what I need OnLine else they'll give me any old hose , maybe even vacuum hose .

Since NAPA no longer lists it , I'm stuck .

I may drive beaters but I try really hard to maintain the little niggly bits *very* carefully , that's how I get away with running my junkers so hard , so long , so reliably .

Anyone want to join us Monday for a spirited mountain drive in the Sta. Monica Mtns. ? .

08:00 to noon or so , we usually stop for lunch @ The Rib Ranch on Topanga Canyon Drive .

I could sure be wrong about the 3/16", but whatever size it needs to
be. It's cheap. I bought it most recently at the local Parts House. I
used to chase down the fabric covered stuff. It was expensive and sort
of hard to get. No more!
