[diesel_mercedes] does anyone have an 82 300td SLS control valve

Folks

Do any of you have a spare 123 series 300td SLS control valve that needs a home?

I think mine is leaking down .... everything rises with the engine running, but the rear end is squatting like a Citroen at the curb when i'm parked.

I know i can rebuild mine, but would rather just have a good used one to swap out and then do a rebuild at leisure.

If you have something, please email me off list,
thanks,

xx rick

FWIW, I've used that acid TB cleaner to take rust stains off ceramic and marble tile.

After
watching the video, I don't think I have the stamina.
Or, maybe mine is just not that bad yet.

I certainly don't! That's why my 81 300td is
loosing it's trim - piece by piece. As it gets bad and
starts to pull out/rust out/bend over/etc, I just pull it
off and throw it away. But looks don't matter much to
me. I'm in this for the boringly reliable-ness of these
rigs. It's like the lady at the recycler once told me -
"You use that thing like it was a truck.". That
said, there is certainly no american truck that will run
this well when/if it lives to be thirty+ years old. --- On

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Repairing your trim

I would NEVER use any type of acid on aluminum trim. That will turn it white. That might work on Chrome but not on aluminum unless it has been chrome plated.
