Max,

My 300D has 195/70-14
My wife's 240 Volvo now has 205/55-16 (on a nice set of PAP 50% off day
Volvo rims)
We haven't tried it out in the rain yet, though snow isn't much of an
issue down here in SoCal.

I remember my '65 Olds Jetstar 88 I had years ago with 245s, which were
awesome until it was wet, then a bit scary.
