Re: [diesel_mercedes] Too Quiet

It's starting to feel very much like winter here in Wisconsin. The 77
240D has been behaving well, starting after about 6 or 8 revs while
catching cylinders every morning. Tonight will be the first one under 20
degF.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Too Quiet

Silver stuff is cetane boost,(among other things) correct? I put at least a 80oz jug in my 285 gallon tank and then when its real cold I add more to my small tank as I run my generator, figure it wont hurt. Still need my propane torch for starting. Max

It's been cooling off in So. Cal., last night was in the 40's ~ I only heat whatever room I'm in at any given moment, it was too  cool in bed last night .

Shirley's '84 greymarket 300TD has 320 miles and the fuel display is about 1/3 tank left, she's panicking and wants me to fill it up, I'm well pleased to be able to get maybe 400 miles out of a tank full and will wait until Friday or the low fuel lamp to light before re filling it, I found another silver bottle of Diesel Kleen and put it in the car, I am using it in 4Oz. doses each fillup .

My Coupe has 440 or so miles on it's last fillup, the gauge's needle is very low and the low fuel lamp blinked a bit this morning .

Last night I stopped and changed the clear plastic paper element filter in the fuel return line, it was dark brown .

I'm going to have dinner with my Son to - night, he lives a few miles from a ProPel station so I'll re fill it then, I'd rather run it dry again to suck out more crap but stopping on any highway in the dark is foolish and dangerous .

I really want to try a paper fuel filter in my wagon just so see how much the color changes with clean Diesel fuel.....

The City picked up my two gallon jugs of waste oil and spilled close to a quart in my and my neighbor's driveways and divider curb, it's been seriously windy here so the gutter is full of dry and crispy leaves and dust, when the wind died late last night I went out with a broom and swept the dry leaves and dust back and forth a bit, this helped collect the really nasty mess but the black smoot bothers me a lot so I'll go de grease that shortly .

I hope all here are well ?  .
