Pretty much AC the whole time , 171 miles , 21.3 MPG and this with that pesky fuel filter bolt weepeing slightly .
I'll get the new O-Ring & crush washer to - morrow snd hopefully get the leak staunched in a day or three , I hate wasting fuel .
I bought three gallons of yellow ZEREX to-day , OWWWWW ! $17.00 / gallon , this is the full strength stuff so I'll cut it with 40 % distilled water and have some to keep in the trunk .

[diesel_mercedes] Those Blind Squirrels
Or in this case , junkyard apes .
Tom and I took an early morning Pick-A-Part run before the het set in , looking for a secondary fuel filter bolt & crush washer ~ we walked in as they were opening up and in the very first row were a nice W-126 gasser that had only barely been rummaged through , behind the up tilted spare tire I spotted the tell tale red cloth of a Mercedes Factory Tool Kit , as I wrestled the HUGE & heavy tire out of my way I realized the string was still tied around it's bulging contents......
_SWEET_ ~ it doesn't have the 22MM filter wrench I need but it had everything else including the hard to find screw in wheel alignment tool , so nice to have if ever you have a flat tire .
The clean W-116 300SD next to it had the bolt and crush washer but the O-Ring was rotted and fell apart and into a dirt as I was wiping the accumulated fungus off it , Top reminded me to not loose it so I could match it up @ FLAPS but I'd already stupidly lost it in the clutter , in spite of looking I never found it , I know where to get a brandy new Dealer one Monday so no worries .
Returning home I cleaned up and loaded up the trusty '82 240D with SWMBO & boys for our jount to wonderful Fontucky Ca. where we had a going to Colleg party for the Grndaughter , it was 103° F & beginning to drizzle as we pulled up there , ugh . well over 100 % humidity .
The car had run hotter & hotter as we left L.A. & drove South East so before leaving I checked the coolant and noticed some fuzzy buildup around the tops of the radiator tubes , I'm sure I Citrus Flushed the cooling system in January , maybe this pink coolant they sold me , is the bunk .
Yellow ZEREX next time , not long from now I'll citiric Acid flush it again .
As we had five people in the car , I'd run the AC full tilt boogie the whole way and noticed the temperature gauge slowly creeping up to the middle mark (90° ?) as we zipped up the I-605 Freeway on a light grade , slowing back down to 60 after we hit the I-210 West kept the needle right below that line so I guess all is O.K. , I just don't like seeing any fuzz inside any radiator .

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: It's HOT !
Hi Max,
Most of the trees are doing great, and with the others I'm trying to
figure what they're missing (the mango being one) to get them doing
better. I just planted my jaboticaba in the ground, which is a unique
Brazilian fruit. Right now various figs are ripening, lots of dragon
fruit coming along, with avocados, pomegranates, goji berries, and white
sapote. We recently finished off this season's grapes, bananas, peaches,
blueberries, and blackberries. Of course, lots of tomatoes and peppers.
Even the winter season fruit is getting started.
Many of these trees I picked up in my MB 300D, as when you remove the
back lower seat, there's plenty of room for hauling, the funniest was a
7 ft tall cactus I had hanging out the rear pass side window. It got a
lot of strange looks on the way home. It also has a superb fruit, that's
coming along right now too.
