[diesel_mercedes] Jumper Cables

Wow, that was fast ! .

They arrive yesterday and it turns out they're rated for 1,200 amperes ! .

Thy also fit easily in the 14 X 14.5" bag I bought .

They came in a super cheapo clear plastic zipper bag I'm sure will rot away in 6 months .

When I drove a restaurant supply truck in the 1970's on Tuesdays I'd got to down town Los Angeles to pick up products directly from the manufacturers and was surprised to see how often the major brands were on the same production line as the uber cheapo brands.....

As Mark says : proper mounting and care of batteries lengthens their life considerably .

# 1 battery killer ? overcharging .

# 2 battery killer ? . vibration so don't forget those pesky battery tie downs ! .

[diesel_mercedes] Product re-branding

This kind of thing goes on all over, Brian.  A few years ago, when I was wrenching for a shop that specialized in four-wheel-drives, I was working with a guy who had a tool cart just like mine, identical in every way, except he bought his from the Snap-On truck, and it had the Snap-On badge on it, and he paid $450.  Mine was from Harbor Freight, did not have the Snap-On badge on it, and I paid $95.  He was not amused, to say the least....

Reminds me of where I used to work. We made a generic product (pots, pans, bathtubs, sinks, auto wheels, etc) and sold them to various retailers (Sears, Ford, GM, etc.). Same product but many different labels. Probably the same with toothpaste and soap computers too.
