Re: [diesel_mercedes] Eat Your Heart Out Time

I got all this same stuff with my 1980 240. Original purchase order, car cost around $20K,, every single thing done to the car over the years, but mine came with documentation of a Mercedes Benz replacement engine put in at 90K miles. I asked the guy about that, he had the oil changed and some idiot left the drain plug loose, eventually fell out, lost the oil, lead to a new engine. Lucky me. Its a great running car. Now at 190K miles. Its been parked all winters since I bought it because of cold/snowy winters. Last me forever at this rate. max

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Bio Diesel

Nate,

I've only found B20 in SoCal, though it could be around.
http://propelfuels.com/locations/#station_locator_map

Searching the web, I found a forum that said this place had Bio-Diesel,
yet their site doesn't say that.

I used to buy Bio-Diesel every time I traveled to NoCal, Mendocino county

I haven't been up there for a while.

The car had somewhere over 200k on it when I bought it (the odometer was broken, of course) and sat quite a lot for a couple of years before coming to me. I had the fuel lines changed over to Viton since biodiesel's solvent properties will degrade the natural rubber. The car started to run much smoother and quieter than it did when I bought it. It never smoked. When I moved to Palm Springs there was no biodiesel to be found, so I went back to dino diesel. The car's performance wasn't as good and it smoked a bit. If I could get my hands on B100 that's all I would use.
