So at the end of October 2011, we bought three new keys for the car. The Mercedes dealer in Spokane was great - no problems there, they sent for the keys and got them on time so we could pick them up en route to Mexico.
The damn keys have lovely soft plastic finger grips, the damn things come off. On two of the three keys, we are now left with this little T shaped bit on the end of the key, quite awkward to use, and a real let down on Mercedes quality.

I had this same issue too ~ oddly , my few original keys are all worn nearly smooth but don't suffer this obvious low quality defect .

On a non related note : Saturday night was spent the night in The Tecopa Springs Resort Inn right across the road from where you stayed in your nice Motor Home .

I's *so* quiet & peaceful there ! .
