RE: [diesel_mercedes] I'm Stumped

Relays are used to switch a high current (amp) loads.  Bosch relays are the best,

if one went out, they are easy to source, used on Audis, VW, BMW, etc.

Yep, if you remove the pump and hard-wire to a 12V DC source, it should spin, if it's any good.

I thought that maybe taking that pump out might unseize it a bit.  But would the pump run when jumped to the battery without the relay in (hooked up directly to the battery).

I would think it would.

[diesel_mercedes] Killing Your Old Mercedes

Therin lies the rub Max ;

Some folks just don't ' get ' it ~ .

you always know whom because they're in the gas station hood up and it looks like an oil geyser under there , slopping wet black oil glistening , when they pull away , they late shift every shift regardless of automatic or stick shift .

Then it's _always_ the cars fault .

Kids mostly .

No need to wind it up unless your pulling a long hill or racing the Geo. Max

Kiss your fuel economy GOODBYE .

Plus , you're operating the engine way in excess of it's basic design parameters , don't be upset when it begins leaking oil from every joint and the piston rings begin to go.....

Thrash it all you want but don't complain about needing another quart of oil every fillup .

I can't imagine it being any smoother unless it used to shake like a paint mixer .

My Mercs all chirp the tires up shifting  when I stand on it .

I was going to do that anyway while I was down there.  They sold me a MANN filter told me it was German.

It appears to fit the car.

I came up with enough containers to drain it luckily.  Some kitty litter cleaned up the concrete.

Thanks and thanks.
