[diesel_mercedes] Re : Tranny Service

 


You need to raise up and safely blocj the car then drain the tranny and remove the pan , change the filter as Mercedes uses a real filter in the tranny ,not the goofy mesh screen everyone else uses .

There's also a 5MM allen plug in the torque converter that you remove to drain that .

Y'alls prolly remember how much I hate dope but I'm having a serious problem here so I must .

Interestingly , the oxycodone/acetimetaphine tabs , @ 325 Mg each , don't hardly touch the pain but they *do* relax me a bit so I can get to sleep , of course when I move during sleep the resulting jolt of pain hits me like a baseball bat .

I hate this , I can't stand up right anymore dammit .

Tom & I walked a junkyard a little bit to - day , usually it loosens me up after a bit but it didn't to - day and I'm dying here .

The Dr. says I can take two tabs at a time , screw that . I'd not touch this crap if I didn't have to .

Monday we'll try it again if no rain .

On my wifes car (Martha), I just have a leak that does not get fixed, so I lose a quart every couple of weeks, and avoid all that foo faw.

Some remove the return trans cooler line, and drain it into a bucket
while the car is running, while adding more fluid as you go. When the
fluid looks all clean, shut it down and reconnect the line, check fluid
level again. This is a popular method for Volvos. One Volvo parts
company (IPD) makes a hose that attaches to the trans cooler, just for
this purpose.

If you drain the pan and torque conv, you've drained out most of the fluid.

Despite having a drain plug, there are so many nooks and crannies in the A/T that draining it out by the plug only empties a little over half of the fluid.
