Re: [diesel_mercedes] '84 300SD.. and '91 "126" front quarters..

You won't go wrong with the Classic Center in Irvine. Give Tom Hanson on this list a call and tell them what you need.

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] '84 300SD.. and '91 "126" front quarters..

Found that I couldn't "find" anyone selling "new" front quarters for my '84 300SD.

However, when I asked the counter guy to look at '91 (wasn't that the last year of w126 production?) he COULD find me front quarters for a '91 300SDL.

While I can't THINK of a reason these won't work (the REAR doors were different, right?) I need to verify, as they're not returnable (special order, ya know?)

Finding a decent hood, is easier (the aluminum doesn't rust!).

Anyone know where I can get a NEW front bumper cover & fascia??

I really want to get my big girl back on the road again.

Thanks as always.

AJ

If you can live with Chinese aftermarket, It's all available.  Over the past year I've gotten front fenders headlight frames and did see bumper covers.  The first fender was $60, the second from the same source was $90.  I've got a business license so that helps.  Google the parts you need as a second search to a more generic Mercedes 300SD search as well as the 126 series.  The rear doors are longer on the SDL and comparable gas engine models, but as far as I know, the front ends are the same.

Hi all,

I looked in the manual and got a 6 to 7 quart capacity in a 240D w123. That's an 83. Somehow I remember it was a touch more. So long between changes I forgot. Is it indeed 7 with a converter drain? Lawrence Rhodes......
