[diesel_mercedes] Mary's Road Trip

Hi everyone! We just got back from the road trip yesterday and I am now officially addicted to our 300D as the single most comfortable mode of transit ever created. We are definitely sold on the idea of getting a W123 Wagon in the future(gonna trade in our Toyota Rav4 once it is paid off in April of next year and we find a good 300TD wagon). I drive the Rav4 3 hours and am stiff for hours, drive the 300D for 7 hours and get out as if I just got in. We journeyed from Silicon Valley area (Fremont) of California, up thru Dunsmuir (CA) to Bend (OR), thru Eastern Oregon & Washington up to a friend's place 40 minutes north of Wenatchee (WA), then back down, thru the Columbia River Gorge to Portland (OR) for a visit with my daughter and her Hubby, back to Dunsmuir, then home. No pics on Portland, as it was super rainy but good food was had by all and everyone but me (designated driver) had good beer. BTW, Dunsmuir has amazing gourmet food and excellent microbrews at the Dunsmuir Brewery an Pub. The German Dog (Levi) loves his German car as much as we do. Mercedes sure does know how to make an awesome road trip vehicle. Anyone in the Bay Area want to rent me their 300TD for a return trip in September? Pics are under album Mary's Road Trip 2011. I get cold easily, so I am wearing about 3 layers of clothing:)

[diesel_mercedes] Fuel Mileage Check 1984 300CD Auto , mostly freeway , some AC use

372 miles ,

28.4 MPG ~ something is going on , I've never gotten this high mileage from this car and I was lead footing it a bit on the freeway , 85 + MPH at times , plenty of throttle left @ those speeds
even going up hill .

Have I ever mentioned how much I like this old saved from the crusher car ? .
