I usually pull the plug in the relay box and check each contact  to ground.  If it's grounded it's good.  Just be sure that you're testing the right ones, there are 6 contacts and obviously only 5 plugs. Also look at the fuse in the  box.

    You can test them with a simple ohm meter.  Like light bulbs, they will have zero resistance when cold and higher resistance when heated (test when cool).
