[diesel_mercedes] Re: fuel Primer Pump

Brian ;

I got the old ttyp from Performance Products , it works fine .

You'll need to remove the inlet hose and unscrews the barb sticking
up from the IP to get a wrench on the base of the primer pump , then
it becomes a 10 minute job even for old guys like us .

Remember to prop the inlet hose up or it'll cleverly dribble Diesel
fuel all over the floor whilst you're working and SWMBO won't like
it.....

FWIW , the old typ primer pumps work better in that they require
less pumping to do the job , the downside is : you have to remember
to screw it cloesed each time you use it .

change mine on the car I have not done much with. It was dark and
cruddy but not bad. I noticed some of the braided fuel lines to the
injectors was weepy so I will replace those too.

primer, I got squirts of diesel coming back on my hand. So, I'm
going to replace the primer pump too. But, with an old plastic twist
knob, or with a new power jobbie? Is the latter really worth the
extra $20? Any of you installed a new model? Either way, I hear
they are a bear to get out unless you are an anorexic midget with
itty bitty fingers, and I a large chunky fellow with fat fingers.
