This group provides a forum for owners and operators of diesel powered motorhomes and 5th wheel tractors to discuss mechanical issues, regulatory issues (US, Canada), ownership, insurance, campground accommodations, trip reports/suggestions, and other topics relevant to large RVs and the people who drive them.
That's 4.8 million kilometres - sheesh! Shows how reliable the P1800 is!
Then there this guy

Yep, I think you are correct. Seems like the guy who owned the car was from somewheres around Eugene Oregon. I had a friend once with a 1954 180D, very cool car. Actually exacataly like my 1959, almost. Max

Mary's heater works very, very well. The A/C condenser leaks but that is a story for another day, like in May or June. On the other hand, Martha's heater (my wifes driver) does not work at all.
So, yesterday I tried the simple approach - I looked at the monovalve. It was in great shape - I also discovered two good monovalves in my parts boxes. Guess I will have to do some electrical digging to see why the blower isn't blowing. I have all the necessary parts laying around, I was just hoping for a simple solution. I guess I should make a list of what else to fix while things are apart. But, my wife has next week off from work so that means the car will be running around town, and I can't tear into it until 2012 rolls around. Oh well, I guess I can wait.

Nice ! I really like the color .
I *think* that's a W-108 ' Heckflosse '?? . I love tail fins .
IIRC , my Down East Brother had one some years back and never bothered to change the oil nor adjust the valves so it was always dicy if it was going to start in the snow .
I thought hard about trying a Ponton or other early Mercedes Diesel but I was worriedit'd be too slow for my needs .

Not sure what you mean here but , any time a vacuum hose can be removed or twisted without a fight , it is bad and needs replacing ASAP .
I'd get a Meter (3') or two and replace them all , _ONE_BY_ONE_ as it's really easy to screw things up if you remove more than one hose bit at a time .
Consider replacing those two 50 MM long hose bits at the back of your ignition switch , they're usually soft & blubbery & so leak a serious fair bit of the all important vacuum .
You'll know when your vacuum system is good and tight as the engine will come to an almost *instant* halt as soon as you turn the key off .
