Great! re the missing? copper washer, when I found mine mis assembled ,
(two washers in one, none in the other), the one without didn't leak. The one with two did. You should try to look at it from the side (best you can) to see if
it's screwed in deeper. My thought is the spring inside will be tighter if the
threaded part is in further. May run fine but not be "right".
Another thought regarding fuel. You have been running with additives and smoking, I wonder what you would get on straight diesel. On fuel-water,
from the filling station? Water in their tanks? Condensation in yours? I would
fill a dry portable container next fill up to check.
