[diesel_mercedes] W123 'B' Pillar Covers

 



I replaced the frayed driver's side seat belt and 'B' pillar cover with junkyard items to - day, I had to re glue the Palomino MB Tex into place before I washed off the junkyard apes greasy fingerprints (couldn't have been _MY_ greasy prints, right ? ) on my 300TD to - day, it looks *much* better , I wonder if SWMBO will notice .

The Kilometer speedo I bought is somewhere in Europe heading my way right now .

This car is looking better and better, as soon as I fix the heater fan brushes I'm sending it off to get a Sanden AC compressor, larger cross flow AC condenser  and maybe new hoses, it'll be nice to have working AC in it .

I don't suppose you have any interior parts left ? .

It's not like I keep it pinned, I usually keep it to 65 or so, same as before when it got 30+ MPG reliably .

It looks like the 80 ampere one won't fit the double sheave pulleys making it a  limited use item .

Maybe better to go with the 65 ampere AL117X one instead .

The SAAB 80 ampere alternator will fit the double sheave pulley but has different connections, I used one on my '78 300CD back when and it worked fine but I dislike cutting into wiring harness' unless absolutely necessary .

[diesel_mercedes] Alternator Choices W123

 



Thanx Rob ;

Please take and post photos of it, I'm keen to see if it comes with a pulley and if so, which one as this alternator fits a slew of Mercedes' up to the 1993 model year .

I'm looking for a junk alternator to grab a good used single sheave pulley off of .

The original 55 Amp. one is the AL80X, not very popular these days .

A 65 Amp. direct replacement is AL117X, you use your old pulley and this one fits various Mercedes up to the 1992 year model so it should be cheap to find  a good used one and slap in a new BOSCH brand regulator and be off to the races with brighter lights and better charging, best of all it fits the original brackets .


I expect to install one of these on an OM617 engine very soon so maybe wait to make sure I know what I'm talking about before $pending any Lolly .
