I wondered about that.  I usually put it in the heavy trucks.  DOT 4 is recommended for Mercs, or just wise?

The clutch bleeding procedure is bizarre.  Worked well though.

We recently acquired an 82 240d and I've been trying to get educated.
Not what I wanted to do at planting time.
It's some what of a basket case, unfortunately.  Nice Florida body though.

[diesel_mercedes] Leaky Master Cylinder

Felix will never be forgotten ! .

In the early 1960's I tried to explain to my School Mates the humor in " The Master Cylinder ! " they looked at me with glazed eyes.....

It's wasn't easy being a Car Nut @ 5 years old .

FWIW , in the past I have sourced and used , used master cylinders from the junkyard but you must be extremely careful in choosing , removal , transport to prevent any stray dirt or dust from entering it and so on .

The master cylinder is kaput ~ get rid of it A.S.A.P. before it fails and you hit something and destroy the car or kill someone .

It's an easy job to change it and the bleeding of the brakes afterwards will ensure your brake fluid is nice and fresh .

USE DOT 4 ! .

Just started today, pump the pedal, brakes quickly and strong with boost, hold at idle and eventually goes to the floor but holds. Pump and is back up top, slowly fades to floor. Not good. Seems like fluid pressue related not vac - checked fluid reservoir and seemed ok, but will keep an eye on. Afraid it may be in master or booster. Any / all suggestions welcome - my son slammed on the brakes a few times today by mistake while he was driving an wondering if it's related. Too late if so, but one more piece of data. Thx in advance, wish me luck :-)

[diesel_mercedes] Another Parts House

I think I found the guys who are grabbing my parts from the local PAP's. They show some nice looking parts on their website. I drove by their address in Ontario (south of the Ice Skating bldg). In an industrial bldg area. Will probably stop by next week and do a lookie loo.

Thanx for the link Bill ;

In the late 1970's in Los Angeles , channel 5 had an early Sunday morning show where they played the 1920's black and white Felix The Cat cartoons , they were very different and always preyy good .
