We mde it to Mazatlan, and now have 5 months to get the half shafts installed. Thank you to all who sent ideas, especially to Brian who got us pointed in the right direction. Once we got into the hot weather, the axles started making noise more often sometimes as soon as 15 miles. We got about 26mpg for the US part of the trip, our mileage improved once we replaced the sticking caliper.
