That was a nice day out , we (I) drove the '82 240D to Sta Barbera and they walked to Stearns Wharf & rented bicycles whilst I suffered in pain before falling asleep in the car for an hour .
What a nice day it was ! not too sunny but fairly humid so I ran the AC pretty much the whole day , one of the dang kids stupidly , in addition to re setting several radio buttons to the same crappy rap station , broke the AC temp. thumb wheel to it's all or nothing now
We logged in 332 miles and 28.1 MPG , pretty good I'd say .
The last 38 miles the low fuel lamp was flickering or on so SWMBO was so worried she twiddled her thumbs nonstop ~ I wanted to make it to that $3.79 / Gallon Diesel station and I did ! =8-) . It's about 1 mile from her house .
G'night , I'm going to pass out now .

I won't be able to deliver it on account of my surgery but could do something to make it happen. Maybe one of my boys could do it. Gonna be laying around all summer.Max

Gas will be back around $2.50 in November, my prediction.
I like the idea of wind and solar, but it can only produce about 2-4% energy of our needs from what I understand. Diesel and longer chain hydrocarbons are the energy source for most large scale transpo. Natural gas is taking a beating, now.

Did you guys hear what happened up here in Washington this year? The people voted the government out of the liquor business. They voted for it because they thought the price of booze would go down in private hands. June 1'st was when the stores started selling. Guess what? The price went up. The state was not about to lose any revenue. Money, money, money it's what makes the world go round, Max

Gas $4.19, diesel $4.39 here. I was wondering the same thing today, but I know the answer. It's all about the $$$$$$$$. Could there really be a world without greed and the need for power? Max

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Trying to make right wide angle mirror.
PO put cheap peel-n-stick convex mirror on my right hand mirror and I have used
it for a number of years without problems.
The problem with this is the parts inside the mirror housing thwarted me. I
wanted to find the hanger parts and mount the peel n stick mirror on that so I
could change the angle. Couldn't find a broken mirror. Guess I had bad luck
finding one. Lawrence Rhodes.....
