[diesel_mercedes] Looking Better.....

 

   

1982 240D


I spent to - day cleaning interior bits for this car, they're not perfect but I doubt anyone other than me will ever notice .


Then I washed and waxed it again, finally polished that last (R.F.) fender and it looks so nice I decided to try the Meguiar's cleaner wax on the wrong color (ivory) hub caps WOW ! they're still old and the metal part doesn't shine very well but the paint looks nice again .


I bought the driver's door bottom strip, it's been bad since before I bought the car, Pick-A-Part laughed and charged me $1.70 (!) for it, I spent some time with soft bristle brushes and Meguiar's #40 Vinyl and plastic cleaner / conditioner, it looks *much* better than I'd hoped .


I still need to install these parts but bit by bit this car is beginning to really pop ~ random Women is parking lots are beginning to stop and gawp at it and ask me about it.....


SWEET ! .


I'm sorry no before pictures, I'll try to get some after one of the bits I cleaned up soon .


? Anyone have an uncurbed hub caps they want to part with ?  color isn't important although white would be nice .

[diesel_mercedes] W123 Seat Pix

 

I'm pretty sure I figured out how to get the pictures out of my new cell 'phone now .

#1 is the seat in situ, I brushed most of the crud and trash off with my hand, you can still see ciggy butts and various bits of crap in the wedge between bottom and back rest .



#2 is the seat fully reclined to ease removal from the donor car and egress into  my '82 240D to carry it home .

To - day I hope to begin cleaning it up, I also have interior repairs to make t my car, clean and install the used 'C' pillar interior sail panels I got last week, wash it and hopefully maybe polish the RF fender and wax it too if I have any wax left in the bottle .

I hope to document the steps necessary to remove these seats with minimal hassles and tools as well as swapping out the broken spring box and hopefully even inserting and securing pool noodles .
