There's an auction in Massachusetts in a couple of weeks. It is about
1/2 hour from work. I figured I'd head down and see if I can stock up.
The auctioneer is Pesco. Auction is in Lawrence MA. They are
auctioning 71 pages of oils, waxes, lubes, and auto tools. I need to
price out the MMO and Power Service products. Along with other products
than I can store and not go bad.
Has anyone gone to an auction and seen good buys? Or does the
excitement drive people to overpay?
It's a 15" buyers premium, with on site and cash discounts.

Hi all ; I have this laptop running VISTA and one of the Foster boys was running it sans protection , I've run all the things from the Microsoft site and it says it's now clean _but_ I cannot get it to load up AGV . So ~ I'd like to pay someone here to give it a go , I have deleted all the old pictures and MP3 files I'm sure were just jam - packed with bugs , defragged it , up dated everything but I'm not a computer tech , I'm an old car Mechanic so any help I can get..... I'll schlepp it to you . TIA , -Nate |

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Computer V8rus Help ?
Nate, I did a query on avg (I did not know what it was) and came up with these potential tips.
1. Right click the icon if there is one on the task bar at the bottom of the screen,or if it is not there, go to programs and right click the program to set the options such as whether to run or not run at startup. Click run, and reboot.
2. I use avast for my virus protection, free for a year, and no problems so far.
Not being a computer guru, my suggestions are what I would do to try to solve the issue. But I would put at least a nickel on the settings of the software being at fault. Once they are reset, the icon should show up, and the software should be running.
Hope it goes well for you.
Chuck

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Mary's Road Trip
Well ;
I'm in the NE L.A. Metro area but , I'm no longer running a repair shop .
I hope you have a GREAT trip and take lotsa pictures to share with us .
I'm getting to the age where I want to begin taking my dogs (Chihuhuas) in the car with me in spite of the hair & dander....
I firmly believe in Proactive Vehicle Maintenance , this is why I'm always taking something waaayyyyy too far apart as I dip in and find little niggly things that bug me so I keep on at it until it's done to my satisfaction . this allows me to spend all my time either driving clapped out old Vehicles all over the place , or working on them...... =8-) .
It sounds like you have a good Mechanic there , treat him well and you'll do fine .
If you're going on a long road trip , is the top tank of your radiator plastic or metal ? the plastic ones have an unnerving habit of breaking without warning , for no particular reason , after this happened to me in Korea Town L.A. @ rush hour , I decided to replace all my radiators proactively and do routine cooling system citric flush etc. , since then everything's jake , no further issues .
Tom's W-126 is running a bit warm these days so we're trying to schedule the time to do an involved deep water jacket cleaning .
There are _scads_ of W-123 wagons out there , early , non turbo ones are cheap but look closely as some have been hammered and can be money - pits .

We ended up doing both rear axles, as on right axle the boot had already come off and the grease was gone and the left the boot was obviously ready to go tits up and it is cheaper to do both than 1 followed by another. So now the 300D has 2 new rear axles, new rear brakes and rotors. I'm a chick, so I had no idea about the brakes and my previous mechanic did NOT alert me to this when he saw the car 6 months ago or I would have done the brakes before rotors were needed...new guy is more knowledgable and showed me the rotors - he is very good about showing me what is wrong and explaining to me why something needs to be done. Anyhow, the W123 runs great and should be really fun to drive on the road trip. Hubby had brain surgery in January, so I will be the driver the whole way and he has never seen this part of Oregon or Washington State. The dog loves the back seat of the 300D, much prefers it t our Toyota Rav4 (guess he likes to travel in style).

I've been pondering this ' Mediterranian Climate ' thing a few days now , I just so .
As it turns , I got some free Prickly Pear ears and planted them , then to-day at lunch the Gardener had left a big box of cuttings and some yanked out succulents with roots so I grabbed three succulents and will plant them to - morrow , see what happens .
I'm not sure what " Plumeria " is ? . linky to pix perhaps ? .

I took this off their web site, lots of really neat pictures there.
It's Colville, but there is a Coleville in California, on Hwy. 395. Are you driving your Mercedes? Max

Nate, I wish you lived closer...I would pay you to to fix up the wagon when we get one. Perhaps I need to look in your area - where are you in So Cal?
In addition to an oil and pre filter change, our 300D needed 1 rear axle when I took her into the mechanic (he showed me and they are orig, so not surprising after almost 30 yrs). We ended up doing both rear axles, as on right axle the boot had already come off and the grease was gone and the left the boot was obviously ready to go tits up and it is cheaper to do both than 1 followed by another. Yeah I should probably sell it. I doubt if I'm ever going to do that job again. My front springs seem to be fine.
