I am not looking for beauty I am just looking for a good deal. Rubber has gone up a lot since the last time i bought tires for this car.

In the '77 ~ 85 series W-116 , W-123 & W-126 cars one of the four wire clips often remains holding the lid or slips back on , I often have to hold the rear most clips free as I lift the lid off otherwise it appears to be stuck fast .

newbie question . i was going to put a new air filter in my 1985 300 d but it wont come off . it feels like the air tube to the engine is not coming apart. any ideas? thanks for any help . rogo

We drove it up to Ventura to chat with the Body & Paint guy yesterday , four adults & windows down as the AC quit .

439 miles , 27.1 MPG ~ lots of rapid acceleration too ~ this Wagon goes like a scalded car when I tromp the throttle .

The Hydraulic SLS rear suspension works a treat too ~ it never dips , wavers , bottoms out no matter what .

SWEET ! .

I should prolly go find a junked Wagon and scavenge this SLS system for my Coupe .

Of course that would entail changing the cylinder head but still and all it's a simply _marvelous_ suspension system .

With Startron .

214 miles , AC used almost constantly , SWMBO driving (the wretched Toyletta Corroded is gone now)

22.1 MPG's , I'm betting it's low because she prolly leaves it idling with teenagers trying to blow the new speakers whilst she's in the grocery store....

Just ask Brian to grab one on his up coming P-A-P jaunt .

Have you take the old one apart for cleaning & polishing of the contacts yet ? .

I know new ones are available making the amoratized price very low indeed .

I really don't think the push button Ford relay set up to be a wise idea except in extreme cases because too short a heating interval means hard starting & cylinder/injector coking , excessive starter wear , whilst over heating will cause short glow plug life , this is why the early cars had the " Salt Shaker " illuminating device and the later cars all went to the timer relay ~ in the long run it's cheaper and more reliable .
