24. I was not going to rehash the entire procedure. I just wanted to give you some things I noted that might make the job easier for someone else. The big thing was discovering that the pump needs to be in running mode, vacuum stop valve disconnected. I did not see this mentioned anywhere.

[diesel_mercedes] Turbo Overhaul Info

Thanx Bill ;

When I glanced at that link initially I thought it was for another video .

SWMBO has a printer but the Internet connection failed yesterday, the cable guy had just fixed it too dammit .

Yes I have an American made torque wrench (Proto Industrial) so one I find the injector torque specs I hope I'll be able to start there .

Thanx Bill but no ~ .

I need something I can read, I don't really have the ability to watch videos and I prefer 'cheat sheets' I can carry out to the car anyway, no Internet access where I do the work .

Re: [diesel_mercedes] IP Timing Static

This is indicative of a stretched timing change.  Betcha anything the camshaft is at LEAST 5-degrees retarded.  There's still more power to found in that 2.4-litre diesel....

I found the problem, but only by accident. When I disconnected the vacuum line going to the stop valve, the pump make a clack and the fuel stopped right up. Set time with no further issues. No more smoke, climbs hills well, gas pedal is way off the floor when cruising now. Had to bend the pipes quite a bit to get them back on, so obviously moved it quite a bit. It was almost to the limit of motion pulled away from the engine and now its about midway. I'll bet it was 10 deg off.

Thanks for your thoughts.
