[diesel_mercedes] 300SDL FOR SALE

 

Hello everyone, I haven't been on this page in a while, but I have some bad news I will be selling my 1987 MB 300SDL for 2500. Car is in good condition I have drive to San Antonio several times on it and to Victoria Texas but as time are getting harder it's that time.  If you want pictures let me know i can. Email them to you.  If anyone is interested shoot me an email. I will still be part of the group since I am staying with my 1984 300SD THANKS.

Air needs a small leak to get by. I've had luck spraying an oil on different spots. The oil will clog the small crack and seal it. Or maybe a pressure check with soapy water?

Do you see any fuel leaking?

I checked the glow plugs in two ways.  For heat with an infrared thermometer & by voltage drop.  It's the fuel probably unless the compression is bad.  But to crank for a minute and then start and idle smoothly?  Gotta be fuel.  The valve clearance was checked and it just got a diesel purge.  How hard is a check valve.  I sure they make them for 3/8 inch hose.  Lawrence Rhodes.....

There must be an air leak somewhere to allow the system to drain. If you find that, you don't need a check valve.
