Might be good to "ream" out the glow plug chambers. There are tools for
that but you can probably fashion something to knock some of the carbon
loose before installing the new plugs.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] No heat or fan when cold out, though fine when warm.

Mary's heater works great after 1/4 mile. I changed the monovalve 1 year ago. Blower is great - but A/C compressor leaks so I have no A/C until I put a new compressor in place.

Martha's blower is not working. I do get heat, but can't blow it out. My wife isn't happy about that. Her A/C is not working either. Once I get the blower blowing, I'll tackle the A/C.

Always something to do in MB land.

I've noticed that my A/C unit is getting worse this winter, luckily I'm
in SoCal.
When it's cold out (40* or below) I get no heat or fan , though it's
fine later when it has warmed up.
This morning I had no heat or fan the 10 miles to work.
Has anybody else had this problem? If so, what was it, or fixed it?
I have the horizontal buttons (Clima-II). I have changed the fuses
lately, repeatedly clicked the buttons off and on, set the heat dial on
MAX. I want to get A/C fixed for summer, yet want to get a head start on
the system.
Thanks

My girlfriend had bought some Michelin's at BJs, with an 80K tread wear warranty back in 2004, I think the upgraded model has an 85 or 90 K warranty now. The went on her 2000 Civic. I was pretty impressed. She got pretty close to the 80K out of them, right around 76K, if it where not for NH winters and snow, she could have left them on for another 10K.
The road she lives on as a pretty steap 100 foot run right at the begining and there is no way to carry any speed as its a pretty tight 90 turn onto the road. Its a tough hill even with new tires when it snows.

Here are the positives.
She did not complain about vibes, road noise, or pulling, which was great not to have to listen to. However, she is frugal, OK, CHEAP, and was up set she did not get that last 4-5K out of them so I did get to hear about that.

When these were done, she was getting ready to sell the car, so it was MallWart Goodyear 65K specials, she drive it for about another 20-30K with these, the ride was not as nice. I did put 2 of these on my 300D and the ride was much inproved over what came off, mostly because what came off where really toasted...
