[diesel_mercedes] Clean 300TD Value in central Utah

You don't think Max ? .

I paid $1,800 for mine then $125.00 each for 5 tires , then $150 for a fender then $4,500 for repaint , $200 EACH for the taillights , there's more $$ in various parts in there but it is NOT CHEAP to properly kit out any old German vehicle ! .

[diesel_mercedes] Re: OK, how do we deal with Ins companies with our old cars?

Rob ;

Appraisal ~ that was the word I was looking for .

Get it done ASAP , at the impound lot before it gets dusty or damaged / stripped .

Be sure to give copies of all recent repair bills to the Appraiser .

Nate,

Yes, the Volvo did it's job against that GMC van, not letting it in the

Either one of the cops or firemen involved mentioned that it was good
that she was in the Volvo.

The driver's door was smashed shut, so they took my wife out the
passenger door on a board.

I'll try to make it to the tow yard today, and take some pics, as well
as pick up personal items.
I'll do a bit of research on car appraisals.

Thanks

[diesel_mercedes] RE: Cold Starting.

Nate et al, I completely agree, I would not use ether on my car, I do use it sparingly on my big ole Detroit if it is much below freezing.  No problem starting here the Mercedes is running before I can let go of the key. If it is much below freezing at home I do cycle the glow plugs twice. I just wondered what other folks were doing.

[diesel_mercedes] Re: OK, how do we deal with Ins companies with our old cars?

Alan and Bill,

Thanks for the advice; I have all the receipts & will take more pics.
NADA has it listed at:

Original
MSRP
Low
Retail
Average
Retail
High
Retail
Base Price $14,860 $1,075 $1,650 $2,650

They're selling for more than that around here. I'll copy ads from Craig's list too.

Thanks
