Some AC use , 3 Oz. Startron last fillup .

388 miles , 28.3 MPG ~ that's about the highest this car has ever given me , I'm driving  a _lot_ slower since my neck surgery , let's see how it does when I'm well and rallying it again .

[diesel_mercedes] battery bragging

I remember many car batteries lasting 10 years back in the 1960's and 1970's .

You have to keep the vehicle in tip  top shape so it never gets worked really hard nor goes dead .

I'll never buy another German battery , they're ALL trash . even the light duty Motocycle ones .

Well I said I was a mistake to crow about getting 15 years out of a

the local non-dealer Mercedes shop and bought a new "Mercedes" battery.
$170 but, based on the last one, prorated over the years it is about the
same as a cheaper battery.  Found the battery tray half rusted out so I
ordered a "new" one on ebay for $89.  Cheaper than the dealer.  Yeah, I
could have fabricated a repair but I figure that's the price you pay for
never having to take the battery out of the car for 15 years.  Some days
it's easier to open your wallet than getting the welder fired up.

It was in car in 99 when I bought it. The guys at the Merc shop were
amused also.

This is a parts vehicle now.  Anyone interested?  New member with a 70 220D?
Engine is good leak on vavle cover repaired with quicksteel but should get a new valve cover.
Everything but the body is good.  How much should I ask for, if anyone has any thoughts that is great.
