When you remove a door panel to do maintenance inside an older Mercedes, what ends up being one of the biggest frustrations? For me it is dealing with the old torn and deteriorated plastic door liners. They are often full of holes, deformed, and difficult to reattach. From the evidence I have seen, many owners just leave them off. You really do not want to do that as it will allow water and moisture to deteriorate or warp the panel.

This YouTube video with demonstrate the damage: https://youtu.be/d-fAHWzgU0E

These YouTube videos will show you why you want to do maintenance inside the doors: https://youtu.be/g8qVYcxajVw and https://youtu.be/aph1bP_JB4Q

I was working on the door locks on my 240D this weekend and found all four liners were unusable. I had to make new ones. After doing this numerous times over the years, I have found there is a fast and efficient way to do it. I decided to film a detailed on-demand video, since I know many of you have run into the same problem.

This video is now available for limited viewing by our mailing list subscribers free of charge. It will be available only for one week as an unlisted video on Youtube. Here is the link to view this video now.  https://youtu.be/PqzEodmB8HkAfter watching it, I think you will look forward to replacing the plastic liners the next time you have to remove your door panels!

Remember my number one tip concerning door maintenance. It is ALL about lubrication. Many of the components inside the doors fail because of lack of lubrication. Order my custom lubrication kit to help you do the job right. https://mercedessource.com/store/complete-lubrication-kit-w-applicators-carrying-case

May your Mercedes doors always close as smoothly and solidly as they should,
