Max,
I have been spending some hospital time myself so I missed this post when it first came around. I found it today as I cleaned up my in-box.
Anyhow, I could really use a drivers side tailight and a passenger side mirror. I am trying to collect parts to get my 1980 non-turbo wagon and a 240D (Miss Daisy) back on the road again.
I hope everything goes good for you. I am 61 and I have never been in the hospital before.....no wait, they tell me I was born in a hospital but I don't remember!!!!!!
Too many projects, too little time or money.
Cheers 'eh?

I will sell anything off of them but I can't do much myself anymore. More than simple I would have to get someone to remove it. Just to let you all know know. The 1981 turbo could be restored if someone wanted to. Max

I think I kinda overwhelmed you with ideas as you were doing the engine swap....
Sorry about that .
FWIW , the AC compressor has a semi hidden adjuster bolt / screw thing , it takes a 13MM socket and has quite a bit of travel so maybe you didn't slack the AC compressor all the way so you actually did get the correct V-Velt .

Hi Nate
Look up the one for the year & model your engine came from .
That's what I did.
Always use Metric belts whenever possible , they'll fit better & last longer too .
FWIW , now , before your old belts die , look at them and write down the part #'s
