Re: [diesel_mercedes] looking for a fuel tank for my 1981 grey mkt 300d

mercedessource.com has a lot of used parts laying around. Also, ebay. But, buyer beware.

people, does anyone have a lead for me, or the exact part laying around in your own stash?
my mechanic can get me one, but the cost is way way too much.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Turbo Overhaul

Hi Nate,

I went with the "mercedes source" turbo kit, as it looked like it had
more stuff for the price as well as instructions.

We had house guests as well as did some traveling for the last week, so
I just catching up on email. My MB braved a trip to drop friends off at
LAX this morning.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Nate doesn't like veggie in diesel engines.

Nothing wrong with veggie if its hot,and you rinse with diesel.I did it too, however blow by got worse, and stopped when I quit for two years.I run transmission fluid now sometimes. Here in Tennessee the Render got tight with the health Dept.,and all places must have Render service. They are selling veg to hospitals to run their furnaces.

But for the rust I'da bought it and fixed it for resale as the poor running is almost certainly caused by crappo filthy veggie oil .Yes Nate we know you don't like veg oil in diesels.....but I have been doing this for 10 years.  Works for me and I just got back from a round trip San Francisco to Redlands with no incidents.  I've had diesels that have run smooth and start right up.  It's hard.  If there is one little leak you will have hard starting and rough running for a minute or so.  It's not for everyone but someone like you would figure it out.  You must have electric line heaters & water based heat exchanger.  The temp of my oil is 200 degrees F.  just before going into the cylinders.  Do I have blow by?  Yes.  I drove one 240 like this for over 100,000 miles and it had over 300k on the clock to begin with.  The car ran better when I sold it than it did when I bought it.  BTW my oil with just filtering using old blue jeans looks like it came out of the bottle.  Lawrence Rhodes.....300TD...Might be selling soon to get our second electric car....If I sell I will include all my veggie sources....
