I've been using them in all my Mercedes , not a failure yet . they're German made , unlike the current worthless Bosch ones and *very* price competitive too .
Autolite ones are not worth spit , bad right out of the box mostly .
Beru used to be German crap 35 years ago ,maybe they're better now .
I have several sets of good use glow plugs , no one wanted them so I tossed them out .

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Glow plugs
Brian,
NGK glow plugs are good - my father uses them in every diesel he replaces them in, whether Euro, Jap or not!
Just ensure you put a never-seize compound onto the threads before screwing them into the head.... a good never-seize is Loctite Nickel Never-Seize!

[diesel_mercedes] Glow plugs
To whom it may concern:
The dead Bosch plugs were 0250201 039 marked "Made in France" (!)
The surviving Beru is 0100 221107, marked "Made in Germany"
Looking around for Beru plugs, lots of sites advertise "for 1983 300SD", but do not give the Beru part number. Not sure this matters, this thing has likely been superseded. FWIW, also finding glow plugs made by AC Delco, and NGK.

Pulled all the glow plugs and tested them. 3 dead. When I installed the engine in this thing, 6 or 8 years ago, I bought a 4 pack of Bosch glo plugs, retained one of the old Berus. Three of the "new" Bosch dead, the old Beru still working. Lesson learned.
I guess my measuring the installed plugs was done wrong. Will install a new set of Berus and the old relay, see how that works.... Who has the best price on glow plugs now?
TIA

The rain and snow have stopped the ground is firm enough to start work, weeds growing about tire high..
