Sounds like you did very well .
Are you aware there's two separate seat adjustments ? . the side one lowers the seat as it slides back , then you can use the front adjuster to set it so your feet reach , giving you more gut room under the steering wheel .
I've seen some pretty big dudes in W-123's , me included .
Consider adding the pool noodle bolsters to the seat springs now before they break and cause you serious discomfort .
