I have had
several nice looking Chinese wrenches snap off in my hand ,
not when I was romping on them , just normal use .

I used to run diesel Chinese engines. Not very good. Hand starting diesel.

Natie told me about this new non Dino , non veggie oil based Diesel fuel , my 1984 Mercedes Diesel Sports Coupe was below empty so I thought I'd give it a whirl .
Price is almost as cheap as Dino Diesel @ 2.599 / gallon .
Called " Propel " the pump has various labels on it that seem at odds to me .
" HPR Diesel Fuel "
" ATSM D975 "
" NO BIODIESEL "
" 98% BIOMASS BASED DIESEL BLEND "
" MORE THAN 20% BIOMASS BASED DIESEL " .
Sounds like conflicting statements to me but might just be clever wording for advertising .
Natie is on some Diesel forums because he has a 2003 (?) Chevy Diesel Pickup Truck , he says the Cetane rating is supposed to be higher and some of the W123 Diesel heads on his group , love this stuff because it doesn't beat up the hoses like regular bioDiesel does .
We'll see if it makes any improvement .

True Al ;
However , there's always been the basic Hot Rodders trick of getting the BIGGEST condenser you can fit , like from a 1960's Caddy , and using it .
These days one can also use the vastly improved SNDEN compressor , it makes more pressure with less horsepower , this means one has to be very careful in charging it becsuse too much Freon makes less cold , not more .
I plan to do some up grades on my W123 Coupe and will post as I go along .

Actually in that vintage Mercedes was never able to get the AC working well enough to satisfy the more demanding clients in the hotter areas of the US. It goes back to the climate in Germany, and the mind set of the engineers and management "we don't need no stinking AC or cup holders"

A moment whilst I'm bashing China here :
Just like Japan in the 1960's they're ramping up (very slowly) to make ever better stuff .
I have a few Chinese tools I love and prefer , they're in my daily use took kit .
