Was thinking there might be two brake switches. one for the lights and one for turning off the CC. On thinking about it why have two, the electrics for just one switch are pretty simple.

From GDL's description, the only thing you need to check about the brake switch is the operation of brake lights. If the brake lights "light up" and go off, then the brake switch is not your problem.

I know this is off topic...but there are so many of us that love to "live off the land" so to speak, that I wanted to share this article. This is such a cool way to garden. I'm going to use old pallets for my frame work since we have so many around here. Happy gardening everyone!

[diesel_mercedes] Re : Which bushing to choose for '80 300SD? - NATE
Yeah Nate, that's what's gonna happen, go to a parts store and find a blister pack of bushings.
I got the bushing I ordered the other day. When Kevin got home on the weekend he said it wasn't the right one! ARRRGH!!!
These days we can just snap a pic with a phone instead of taking a good long look and hoping we remember what it looks like! :)
At least the p/s filter is the right one!
I'll be price comparing fluids this week. I kept the truck this week. Wed I plan to go to town, run errands and work on the car after 5pm. I sure hope we can get it done by the end of the weekend.
Soooo just for my information...if we had done this swap from a 123 instead of the 116 it came from, would we be having these issues with the fit of the CPR?
Trish ;
Tom @ The Classic Center isn't going to know what bushing you need because you're assembling a Franken-Benz there....
There's two you're looking at , one on the shift linkage and the other on the pressure control rod .
If I might offer a bit of friendly farm/junkyard/field repair advice :
Look closely at the hole and the pin or rod that goes through the hole , remember this and head out to Kragen/Schuck's/AutoZone etc. & look in the " HELP! " Aisle ~ they'll have all manner of blister packed clips , pins , door knobs , doo-dads and yes , bushings ~ you'll be wanting the hard kind , not the soft black rubber ones . clear plastic or nylon , a bronze one works well too .
Sometimes you can find a multi-pack of several similar items for less than two of the single ones , I spend some time looking through the selection , often on my knees on the floor .
IIRC , Pep-Boys has the biggest selection but each store has a different so go and look closely ,you might $ave some $eriou$ Lolly .
I recently re bushed the shift linkage in my Franken-Metropolitan Nash FHC (it has a 1980 Datsun B-210 " JATCO " M-35 Auto Tranny) with a sintered bronze GM door hinge single flange bushing..... it works a treat and was under $5 .
Just thinking outside the box a bit here as the sun sets &I dream of Donkeys running wild in your pasture .
