Re: [Diesel-RVs] Re: Alpine coach

Ahh. Now that's much clearer. Just sales talk combined with personal experience to develop an opinion.

The thing about airplane brakes was a bit of paraphrasing what some Alpine
dealers have "spewed out" as a supposed advantage/selling point to Alpines
brakes (being "like what airplanes use") .. and we don't need to belabor the
thought about whether or not airplane brakes are changed every so often...

We all know that this form of communication is "flat/black and white" which
can lead to various interpretations and debates...
Normally I let inane remarks go by ...not worth "debating".. .
but, I must say...
It is also amazing how some people read quickly, see something they don't
happen
to agree with (or have experience with--or be familiar with) and choose
their
"cute wording" ("spew out absolute bilge") to express themselves.
since there is always someone quick to jump on an idea or a sentence and
take out of context or go off in different directions, I'll try to word this
as carefully as possible to try to eliminate someone reading something not
meant to be there....

I've talked to dealers who quit carrying Alpine and heard about all the
reasons why.
I'm glad for anyone who 'hasn't had problems..and may never have
problems'...
With over 30 years RV experience (owning/operating/ repairing) , the last ten
years fulltime includes 3 motor homes with -- staying away from Hydraulic
Disc Brakes - they may be fine for (smaller) motor homes under 30,000
lbs....
for the heavier ones, I've found that air drum brakes provide a better
stopping.

[Diesel-RVs] That's What they Want you to Think

..............Chuck wrote:

..........."DJ,

Chuck, I am not trying to be smart with my subj answer. However,
contrary to what those manufacturers will tell you, I have been using
Pine based cleaners for over 10 years now and my valves are fine, seal
perfectly, slide open and closed without any issues.

Are the typical seals made of some special rubber or material that
they break down that easily...or maybe my seals are different? Maybe
that old neighbor of mine was replacing seals every year and just
wanted me to suffer?

There are times when common sense prevails arising from actual
experience. Is it possible that this suggestion is a sales pitch?

Even if it were true, PineSol smells great, and our full time coach
back in the 90's had the PineSol treatment for 6 years until we sold
it....no problems.

That's all folks.........

[Diesel-RVs] Re: Delayed AC on Generator start

My generator started doing that last year. Then it got to the point I
had to shut it off and on 2-3 times to get power.
It finally refused to give any power. It took a new $$$ voltage
regulator to fix it.
