I have a welding helmet which adjusts to #13, so I could take a peek here there, while working in the yard.
Pretty cool, yet SoCal didn't get the dark thing.

The eclipse was interesting, but you had to be in an area of total darkness (umbra). That lasted two minutes, and the minute before. It was like a smoky day, then boom …it was DARK !! whoa
You take care. Bill

Subject: [diesel_mercedes] I Tried
Saturday, I got in my Wagon with ten year old Demarkis and headed home and managed to hobble into my kitchen and grab my Coupe's keys, squeeze into the coupe and light it off (why did I worry, it banged *instantly* into life as usual even after sitting since 6.26) , backed it into the street and headed off for a few errands .
Demarkis was very helpfull, holding the door open each time I needed to get in or out and load/unload my new walker with left arm support allowing me a bit of mobility .
When we got to the automated car wash at least ten other cars were ahead in a line so I gave up and headed back home , put the coupe back in the driveway and drove us home in the wagon .
Whew, that was hard and I'm still tired/sore .
I missed the eclipse ~ I was out there until 10AM and didn't notice any change, gave up and took another nap .
