The downpipe is flanged at both ends.  When you order the pipe also order the sealing ring that fits between the down pipe and the rest of the exhaust system.

If the flexible pipe part is shot, go to a muffler shop and they can weld
in a replacement part. The part should be about $45 and the labor will
probably take about an hour.
