Wow, amazing. I'm ready to sell both my 240's. My 4spd had a engine replaced by a Mercedes dealer in Cali at 90K miles. Now just over 200K Some oil monkey forgot to tighten the oil plug. I am second owner. I have all receipts of everything done, which was a lot. Surprised me how much stuff was done. Let us know how much you end up spending.. Max

I went by the shop where my 1982 240D is being major overhauled, the engine is in and they ran it for me, still tweaking it and adding new bits & pieces, the Sanden AC compressor and cross flow, larger condenser is in but yet needs new R134 valves and a bracket for the high pressure hose , the cleaer plastic fuel filter to IP fuel transfer pipes are needing replacement, they came from MB directly . other bits and bobs , it looks like the fuel injectors I special ordered Down East have too low a pop value and so run a bit rich ~ I bought a set from United Diesel Service in El Monte, Ca. and ill have him put those in, see how it goes .He said the tranny wasn't very bad, just totally worn out so new bands and so on all from MB again......I wonder how high the final bill is going to be, good thing I like this car very much .Stay tuned .-Nate
