Some AC used , 3Oz. silver bottle Diesel Kleen used , 27.1 MPG .
337,000 miles , engine worn out , tranny worn out , I love this car and hope to rebuild the drivetrain one of these days .
Original white paint , not a speck of rust anywhere .

Tom and I went to the Western LCQ P-A-P Yard on Blinn to - day there were plenty of W-126's in pretty good shape and a couple beaters / smashers plus three or five W-123's and one lonly W-114 gasser Coupe .
A few W-140's too much to my surprise .
Of course there was a smattering of W-124's , no Diesels, those are very cute but worthless in any way shape or form so they litter the landscape like old Toylettas anyway , no one cares .

I belong to almost 70 yahoo groups and all are vehicular in nature....
I like it here the most , I hope no one gets pissy because I have foolish tastes in vehicles .
I can't even go look at that group with out joining so it's not going to happen .
Isn't a 35 year old Mercedes Diesel arcane enough ? . God alone knows I drive it hard enough and it begs for more.

Since I had a full jolt of adrenaline I decided to work if off and finished up my Mighty Metropolitan Nash FHC to - day , the test drive was down that same twisty Pasadena freeway going 3/4 chat ~ passing everyone in a Metropolitan Nash as they slow down for the tight , off camber corners and watching their eyes bug out , is priceless .
Now I can play with this :

ps - allegedly, the Anaheim PAP off Beach has a 1983 w123 available as of April 02 somewhere in the yard.

Yesterday, (1) w126 gas and (1) w126 diesel with parts to pick over. More importantly TWO empty rows in the euro section which will be filled today or tomorrow with 30-35 euro vehicles. The yard boss told me that diesels are getting thin because some outfit in Anaheim is outbidding them (he said $1000 per car, don't know if that is true or not). But ROB, is there an outfit in Anaheim "?W?" that is gobbling up MB diesels? These PAP's are now a nation wide corporate chain so their policies are getting standardized which means my w123 diesel searches may have to expand to "independent" yards. Anyway, the two empty rows at Ontario may be worth a look next week. They may even show up on the website assuming the guy who fills them also puts the info into the computer.
