[diesel_mercedes] Re: Is that a new paint job? !! Red Max Pro Update

I would assume in the flooring area, cant say for sure as I orded it on line and have not picked it up yet.

The Lowes near me Rochester did not have it when I was there and did not show any in stock, but did have the Zep product on the end of the isle near the flooring.

Its the little things that excite me, think of it, 10 bucks to have my car look like new... Testing on my class B 85 Dodge Frank Industries Xplorer 228 this weekend. Then onto the 300d...

Re: [diesel_mercedes] 240D Works

"all this wonderful stuff for only $11.37 =8-)"

Probably cost you more than that in fuel just to drive there and back....

Whew `

I'm nearly dead , I got the intake manifold installed to - day and no more oil leaks , the cracked aluminum air cleaner is replaced , I installed new hexoganal rubber air cleaner mounts (hex typ are better) and their cute little heat shield cups , then I began to stress about the DPO's use of cheapo Amnerican made hose clamps , they're only a few years old but are all corroded , I removed them and looked at the steel heater return pipe , it was badly rusted away at the engine end so off to Pick-A-Part I went and bought a nice pipe and three newer heater hoses , they're all moulded and cost BIG $ when you can find them .... plus a BIG bag of greasy old Mercedes hose clamps , all this wonderful stuff for only $11.37 =8-) .

Whilst I was driving back I stopped in at my favorite gas station , the one with clean restrooms , lotto tickets , cold sodas and of course , all the free water and air I want..........

Since it was sunny and nearly 100* , I naturally took the cooling system apart and replaced all the rusty & bad parts , as I had to disconnect the heater core proper , I flushed it backwards & forwards , I've been flushing this cooling system repeatedly , daily for a week now and still I was able to get some yellowish water out of the heater core .

Then I buttoned it all back up with nifty German Mercedes logo'd hose clamps (after de greasing and hand polishng them all) , filled it up once last time with distilled water (over 12 gallons have been used so far) and headed off to test run it and get some Diesel fuel as the reserve light had been on since morning , after filling it up I drained out the clear distilled water and re - filled it with the correct , yellow colored ZEREX coolant , it never ran hot and still runs @ 82 degrees C in spite of me zooming it across the freeway @ 70 + MPH so I guess the cooling system is finally done .

Whew .

My sciatica is killing me , I think I'll work out the mileage and take a nice nap . (if I can find the fuel receipt) .

This concludes Tuesday's Proctology/YaddaYadda Report.....

(because small minded people want to know)
