If you have a floor jack then do the motor mounts yourself. Just my suggestion. But it takes an 8 mm allen(hex)head on a socket, and a 12 or 13 or 14 (I don't remember which). Loosen the allen screw from underneath and loosen the two bolts/nuts that hold the m/m onto the frame. Then jack up the engine with a piece of wood to cushion between the jack and the pan. Just a half inch is enough. Slide out the old and slide in the new. There is a piece of tin you may want to reinstall so remember it's orientation. Both sides can be done in 20 minutes. Wear gloves. Bogy.

Nice car. It is the same colour as my '84 300SD.
Change all the filters, adjust the valves, she should run just fine!
If you have problems, post them here.
Someone (usually several) will have a solution.
Happy cruzin'

Thanks for the encouragment bogy. I started to do it a month ago, I was going to change the oil cooler lines, but I could not loosen the small screws in the hanger below the power steering fluid, and in the side of the engine. I may just do the mounts, and then tackle the cooler lines another day.

For a couple hundred above scrap value for a marginally running and driving car, I'm going to look at it tomorrow. It looks like something I can tinker on and sort out for a summer project and a local town runner.

It's about four, maybe five feet off the road, crossing a couple of hundred feet in front of me, I just about have time to think "cool" when I notice it's buddy about five feet from my left mirror.. I tuck in and cringe to the low side, feel and hear feathers slap across my helmet, and its over and gone..
