Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Looking for vegetable oil source in the SF Bay area.

Steve,

Do you know what they are paying in NH?  I lost one source and would like to make sure I don't loose the next.  I have watched the WVO collection for years.  It doesn't seem to be a profitable business for them.  By the time they add the costs of trucks, insurance, workers, etc. they are really in the hole.

Do the commercial companies charge the restaurants for tank rentals, pickup fees, etc?

Sorry, I am on the east coast (seacoast of NH), also looking for sources and cant help you, but I am wondering what happened to your source.

Most of mine dired up for 2 reasons, the biggest is that the comercial companies priced me out of the game, making it not worth the time and effort to collect, filter, and still save a couple pennies on diesel.

The other has been slower business and longer change intervals on the restrants part to save some money on oil.

Thanks,
Steve

Looks like a 000-078-04-56 to me. I had one of these cars and loved it. Never should have sold it. I replaced not only this part, but the wole vacuum setup under the hood. What a difference.

I found my 1987 300SDL shifting hard today I have not driven it in almost 2 months and opened the hood and realized there was a vacuum line disconnected but in fact had a little plastic thing broken. I am adding the picture as an attachment to this email. hopefully someone can help me. Ive check mercedes source but could not find it. I was by the radiator hose and the diesel filter. It had one vacuum line one one end and the other but one end is broken. Any help would be great.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Looking for vegetable oil source in the SF Bay area.

Steve, check the Knights of Columbus or other clubs that have kitchens. I also get free stuff listed on Craigslist. I save about $200 a month. I fill up every week when I am on diesel. When I am running veggie, I get about 900 to 1,000 miles on a tank.
I like the $1,800 in the bank at the end of the year.

It looks like one of the 1-way check valves. If I remember correctly,
the color tells you which one you need. You could just super glue it
back together, for the time being.

Then it is off to Autohaus AZ to see a blowup picture of the part. Your photo is blurry but I have seen that part before - I think I broke a similar part off in the past.
