Ok, why do the books not mention that you have to loosen the bracket bolt that allows the mount to swivel freeley. . Loosened that and everything went as planned. Had it back together in 15 minutes. Wasted almost 2 hours, and yelled at my 22 year old son for buying a piece of junk. I still love the old chevy's the most. USA, USA!!!!

Did a google search; you are not alone. I assume there is a solution if you read through these.  Bill in Oregon

I am ready to burn this piece of beep!! 1984 300 D Trying to install the alternator. It is like the piece of garbage is bound up in the bracket. Cannot move it forward or back. Through bolts on the bottom is completely loose. Adjuster bolt is completely loose. The alternator will not rotate at all in the bracket. Any suggestions.
