Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: ATTN : TRISH !

Dogs and cats have to eat. I don't feed commercial food.  I make my own cat food and our dogs eat BARF aka Bones And Raw Food aka Biologically Appropriate Raw Food. We don't raise rabbits any more.  Got to be too much on so many levels.

After all my assumptions didn't work out. I took it to my new favorite
mechanic. Conservative. Put it back the way you found it kind of guy & he took
my advice and look for fuel in the injector lines. None. Check the timing.
Ream the glow holes. Found all the glows bad. Bad primer pump. Probably why
It'd start all day and when it got cold over night it would drain. That's most
of it. Car now starts right up. We'll see if it starts up the next day or two
after sitting. But the glows probably went bad from all the extra glowing that
had to be done and the repeated starting. Seems the problem has been solved.
He put in used glow plugs he had & a new automatic(non screw) primer pump.
Checked the timing and charged me just under 200 dollars. But again we'll see.

[diesel_mercedes] good chuckle today

I got a good laugh this morning as I was watching the weather channel. They were saying it was very cool in L.A.. Dropped all the way down to 58 degrees. I glanced out the window, but could not see out the windows due to snow, but it's pretty warm today. 30 degrees. First snow we've had in weeks. Max

Whew!  Man, I know I'm getting older and all, but I'm not ready to join that club yet!

I use battery acid when I tan rabbit hides.  Just throwing that out there.

[diesel_mercedes] Re : MB

Yes ;

Old cars tend to have a particular smell to them , you didn't say it was a funky or unpleasant smell so I assume it's the usual German car Horsehair seats , vinyl , brake fluid etc. composite smell .

If you're getting s sweet , sickly smell , it's time to remove the seats and carefully vacuum then wash the whole inside of the car , the seats , door panels etc. as sweat builds up over the years , I also wash the seat belts periodically when the get stiff .

And yeah...as Brian points out, you can see most of those diagrams on their site under search results. Very helpful.

Why? Because the PP catalog has schematics for every model and every system which makes it simple to locate "your" part, identify the part with a name, see how the part relates to other parts, and get a high end price idea. I have even scanned the pertinent (to me) w123 pages onto my hard drive so I can enlarge the parts _ I even think I will transfer that info to a flash drive so I can carry it with me.
