This group provides a forum for owners and operators of diesel powered motorhomes and 5th wheel tractors to discuss mechanical issues, regulatory issues (US, Canada), ownership, insurance, campground accommodations, trip reports/suggestions, and other topics relevant to large RVs and the people who drive them.

If anyone runs across tan or carmel colored visor clips while scrounging around PAP's, I can use 2-4 of them. See the pic.

O.K. , I'm still busy picking up the pieces from 2017 , yesterday O got the 240D's leaky heater hose fixed for now and hit the road on a test drive .
I had to stop a few times and add coolant as the heater burped out ever more air and rusty older coolant but it never exceeded 82* C so I think I'm road ready
for the Bottom Buster Motoring Tour that begins Sunday .

Good deal, that's how things _should_ be done IMO .
Sadly, about twenty years ago the S.F. Bay area began yet another building boom and so expanded to where many of those older yards full of older vehicles, were located, I remember frantic "everything for sale $250 per vehicle !" sales, I'm in L.A. so wasn't able to make any good scores .

You are correct on the assessment of the bay area. Hayward had several at the west end
of Winton and Depot Rd. Specialty yards in Oakland and Hayward – British, MB, Porsche.
Emeryville – BMW.
Pick n Pull is owned by Schnitzner Steel. They have the huge car shredder in Oakland.
Plus others along the coast. So they control the yard and what is left over.

I used to go to the east bay , SF, parts places, and the prices were quite high, but yards were busy. Even 300sd cars were sometimes available. Out here in MD, no 300sd cars anymore, and prices are pretty much the same. Don't exactly know what their business models are, but cars out here stay for a long time, not so in the SF bay area. Rarely were cars scrapped there until they had been stripped.
