Re: [diesel_mercedes] W110 200D rear axle removal

Hey Dexter, if you want this Mercedes Glens manual, send me a address. I believe in paying it forward. It will be my Christmas present to you. Its on the table waiting. Just the pictures of old Mercedes in it are worth having it.  Max

I didn't see any castellated nuts but I did see six 8 MM studs , those are used to attach the brake plate to the axle banjo housing .

A question about the 5th image, IMG_20151129_170935.

I see two (castellated) nuts, and there are probably two on the other side. What are they holding on?  Bill in Oregon

[diesel_mercedes] Routine Service

'84 300CD , routine oil and filter change , replaced the clear plastic fuel intake screen because I realized I'd installed it backwards the last time ~ it was clear as is proper but for $4 I'll just toss the old one out .

It's beginning to cool off here (some 40* F nights) so I decided to figure out why the heater stopped working when Victor installed my SANDEN AC compressor last Summer .

So far I have discovered that getting heat is simple : just gently wiggle and unplug the monovalve , it'll pop open , providing you with generous heat .

I also tested the auxiliary hot water pump , it works a treat , next will be fuses and then the dash control unit .

Should be simple , just takes time to look at things .
