Probably just need to keep cranking. Have you tried cracking open the fuel line nuts at the injectors to see if fuel is getting to those points? Are you using the clear primary fuel filter, and seeing fuel in there? Fuel line clamps and fittings are all tight, right?Like Bogy said, crank with the the accelerator pedal all the way down, and it'll eventually fire a few weak pops. It should start pretty soon after that. It may take quite a bit of cranking....(When I re-installed my injector pump, it had leaked dry onto the shop floor. Cranked and cranked and cranked, and could not get even a pop out of it. The car was pointed slightly upwards. I removed the number one injector line, then removed the part where the line bolts onto the pump. It's a fitting that's held onto the pump housing with a 13mm nut. Be careful if you do this, as there are some small parts that can drop out when this fitting is lifted out. The pump was nearly dry down there. I worked the primer pump until fuel came out of the hole, then replaced everything. It started pretty soon after that.)Mark

Subject: Re: [diesel_mercedes] Help bleeding fuel system after filter replacement
Guys,I meant to say that after the diesel purge, I changed the fuel filters, and so now I can't seem to get it to start. I think I've purged the air from the main filter by cracking the banjo fitting on the outlet line from the filter to the IP. I've also loosened the injector lines and after a cumulative 3-4 minutes of cranking (in 15-29 second bursts), still see no fuel at the injector lines. As I asked previously, am I missing something, a or do I need to just keep cranking?

After completing the diesel purge on my 83 240D, I can't seem to get the fuel system bled. I cracked the outlet line from the main filter to the IP and got fuel out. Cracked the other end of the line (input) line at the IP and got fuel out. I've loosened the injector lines and cranked in 20 second bursts and haven't gotten anything at the injector lines. Cranked so much the battery needed a recharge.
Am I missing a trick or do I need to just keep cranking?
Thanks!
