[diesel_mercedes] Re: ? MAX ?

I see him on another site in the last few days. He has much snow and very cold weather. Tried phoning him a few days ago & hit an answering machine.

Re: [diesel_mercedes] Re: Surging at Idle

Thanks, I've done a valve adj. fairly recently and filters are good and fuel dosed regularly.

Of course , this shouldn't be touched until after you've adjusted the valves , done a Diesel P{urge and changed both fuel filters , it's a wa$te of time otherwise .

[diesel_mercedes] Re: 87 300 TD Front strut replacement

For safety reasons , I only suggest you get a coil spring compressor ,
they're cheap at Harbor Freight .

Using a hydraulic trolley jack works on some cars , others not so much and I knew a VW Mechanic who was bisected by a Super Beetle Spring he decided to dis respect ~ it went in his stomach and splattered his spine (and other wet bits) all over the shop wall behind him .

[diesel_mercedes] Re : Block Heater

I hear you Nate ! .

It was rainy , muddy , cold , greasy under the hood and I didn't have the 46 MM (?) socket necessary to remove it .

[diesel_mercedes] Re: Surging at Idle

If it's a W123 maybe you need this part - 1420560014 - upgrade from original.

RE: [diesel_mercedes] 87 300 TD Front strut replacement

Maybe Nate (in Calif.) will respond to this.

I’ve heard of “quick struts” being offered by the FLAPS. They are the whole strut and spring in one unit; you give them your old one. Do they exist for the Mercedes?

Anyone attempted this?

With or without a spring compression tool?

Giving thought to trying this using jack stands and a floor jack.

Thanks,
Rusty
